Eric Swanbury - director
Innovative, cost effective and functional architecture that makes a positive contribution to the built environment has been a consistent focus of Eric’s career.
Graduating from the South Australian Institute of Technology in 1971, Eric gained extensive experience in educational and retail projects before commencing private practice in 1982, followed by the establishment of Swanbury Penglase Architects in 1989.
Having extensive personal experience in all facets of architectural practice, Eric has continued to develop expertise across a broad range of building types with an interest and specialist knowledge in the design of environments that encourage and facilitate learning, encompassing early learning, primary and secondary schooling, tertiary facilities and other non-formalised building spaces and urban environments.
Outside of architecture, Eric enjoys family time, travelling, the coffee culture and spending time in his workshop working with timber and in the garden establishing and nurturing an eclectic collection of plants and flowers.
