These two locally heritage listed Ethelton Primary School buildings were retained by the developer for subdivision and conversion into modern apartments. The building exteriors were restored to maintain their integrity in the streetscape while all spaces internally are now suitable for contemporary living.
The Old Pelham Street building contains four apartments, all utilising the unusually tall volumes, with mezzanine floors whilst retaining the original ceilings. Grand high windows provide views of the sky unknown to the modern courtyard home!
The two storey Carlisle Street building contains six apartments, again with lofty ceilings and large windows allowing for a sense of the New York style loft apartment sought after throughout Australia .The apartments also retain some of the original blackboards and PA speakers as a whimsical link to the past.
