This new residence for a young family is nestled within the suburb of Hawthorn in Adelaide SA, surrounded predominantly by bungalow and villa styled residences.
The building draws inspiration from Japanese influences and ecologically sustainable principles. The residence has a strong and unique presence within the streetscape but it does not overpower its neighbours.
Three individual pavilions are linked via a glazed walkway, allowing the creation of a number of courtyards. The pavilions are surrounded by water and garden features and as a result the delineation between outdoor and indoor space has been blurred.
