Resulting from a lengthy process of consultation and analysis, this lifestyle complex combines the town’s major sporting and leisure facilities on one site adjoining the community oval.
The project involved the redevelopment of an existing building to include a series of external and internal swimming pools, aerobics and gymnasium spaces, new squash courts and change room facilities, and the redevelopment of the first floor sports club.
The challenges created by the existing site and building fabric were resolved by careful planning, as well as the integration of distinctive new built elements and carefully formulated outdoor areas. The resulting facility has embraced its context of community sport and recreational parkland.
